i'm having this problem with my turbo system. i am getting blue smoke coming out my tail pipe, so i suspected it was the seal. i replaced it with a new turbo and same thing. so now i decided to take off the turbo to see if there was smoke from the eninge but found none. then i put the turbo back on and removed the oil feed line but same problem (smoke from the tail pipe) then i removed the oil return line and no more smoke. ? i'm lost and any info appreicated

This might sound off the wall but I have heard that brake fluid burns blue. If your brake booster had a slight leak and some seals went bad in your master cylinder you could get blue smoke to come out of the exhaust.

I really just have to know how brake fluid would ever get into the motor WTF. The braking system has nothing to do with the motor WTF

On another note I would say that it is not a real good idea to unhook the oil feed line to the turbo while the car is running. the oil is actually what the turbo shaft rotates in.(think rod bearings, same principle)

My vote is a PCV problem as mentioned above. Did this just start or has it always done it?

Did you clean out the old oil and crap from the last turbo failure? If not its just rem nets of the last turbo failure, and it is just burning the oil out of the cat and exhaust.

the smoke keeps pouring out even when the FEED LINE is OFF and
RETURN LINE connected (i know the dangers here)

then when i also DISCONNECT the RETURN LINE it stops smoking ???

I was thinking the same thing. There has to be a better way to test the setup....I mean, not having the oil feed line or return line connected for that matter really is just a bad idea.. :nono:

time to check for shaft play in the turbo.... :notgood:

i have another turbo to throw on thats not the issue i just dont want to go through a third,
im going to get 2 pcv valves from a gst then try it probably tom. what do u guys think?

ok heres the up date. i just got back from the shop and the first thing i did was that i replaced the pcv valve with a new one and kept it stock. then i put on the return line but NO FEED

to see if that corrected the problem i was having before. there was not as much as smoke as before GOOD THING, almost manageable then i removed the oil cap to see if the smoke would clear. WELL nothing really happened, but there was a bit of smoke coming from the oil cap. SO WHAT DOES THIS MEAN ?
