i have a 1990 plymouth laser given to me by my uncle, who once hit a curb on the passenger front wheel. ive been driving it with the wheel sticking out for about two years, and now i think it has to stop eating my tires. my first try was to buy camber bolts, and i tried to make it a negative as possible, yet it still sticks out. from reading other threads, i decided to get a new lower control arm. i just installed that and the wheel is still tilted..
any ideas on what else it could be? im thinking something from the top is bent, but i dont know what.. could it be the hub itself?..

after i got it.. sorry the pic is tilted.. its the only one i had:

actually i changed the struts twice, and have another set in my garage.. so im guessing it has to be the hub..? which means i gotta go to a junkyard huh.. how can i tell if the hub is bent? you think itll be easy to remove the lower control arm from the steering knuckle if i havent drivin the car yet? cause i just returned the sledge hammer i used to take it off..

If the strut (or it's mounting points) isn't bent, then it almost has to be the hub, knuckle, or lower arm that is (the lower arm gets bent the most often). Raise car and remove front wheels. You can compare measurements of this side to the other side to help identify if the arm is bent. If you have a runout guage, you can tell if the hub is bent. If you don't, just hold a stationary object next to the outside front edge of the hub and rotate the hub to visually see if it's bent (hub gets closer to the object at one point of revolution than the other).

i went to a local pull-a-part junkyard today and got a steering knuckle.. it was only 8 dollars. ill be installing it tomorrow, hoping for good results.. the wheel bearing spins okay, just little sound from the dirt.. should i change it with a new one though, use the one on the car now, or just grease it up?..

The bearing is kinda a pita to change, plus you have to have a good size press to do it, so for right now I would leave whatever one is in there and see what happens. :dsm:

I hope that fixes the problem. Take a good look at the lower arm while you are at it. It seems much more likely to bend the arm than the knuckle.

*the pictures in my first post were of after-installation of the arm*

but NOW.. i just completed installation of the hub.. turns out the hub was bent where it connects to the strut. now i need a new tire and allignment because when i turn the wheel while moving, it pulls the steering wheel to that direction.
