So my galant has a positive front camber issue. I swapped the front and rear subframe from my parts gsx for a simple 5 lug swap and 4ws delete / 4 bolt lsd all in one. The PO had some lowering springs on it nut when I compare the front strut of the galant to the gsx the galant is about 1" taller. I tried putting the gsx struts on but that did not help. The car is not very low at all but the springs are stiff and bouncy.
It has Tein camber plates, i maxed them negative, which helped... barely.
Probably going to be in the market for new set up?

I noticed other vr4 pics, some people have the bolts drilled the other way (so fliped 180 degrees). Are these set up right or were they drilled backwards?

Open to some new set up suggestions. I am not savy in suspension outside of pulling it off/on. I know my week points LOL. The car is just a fun little cruiser not trying to race or autocross with it or anything. But upgrading performance and comfort and of course the damn camber. Thinking coilovers? GVR4 specific?

So you have the sub-frames out of a gsx in your galant. How certain are you that the sub-frames are exactly the same dimensions? If they aren't, then you will not be able to fix the issue by springs or coilovers. You will likely have to cut in for more adjustability on the upper mounts. Did you find the actual cause of your positive camber on the galant? Was it's sub-frame bent? And thats why you put this one in?

Subframes are identical minus the galant being 4 lug hubs, it's fairly common of a swap. No idea what was causing the +camber on the galant subframe and also why it is carrying over with the gsx subframe and even with stock struts/spings being swapped in. It's weird because it is a little lower than stock (not by much at all) but normally lowering will create negative camber.

Basically I am over it, the ride quality sucks with the current sh!tty springs. I need some coil-over recommendations for the vr4. I figure if I lower it some more, I should be able to get it into spec hopefully.

I would re check the subframe again! The galant ones we get are different and although will bolt up are not the same width so the arms wont sit in the same location, we also get cast alloy subframes too and they also are not able to work due to the engine differences and soace issues!

Looking dont mean nothing! You need to physically datum all points and see the differences on paper from the data pulled!

IMO, the best bang for the buck suspension system currently on the market for the GVR-4 is the Feal 441 kit: http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/suspension-upgrade.501151/#post-153573222

Probably the route I will go after Christmas. Off the shelf spring rate good?

So the Galant had the positive camber when I bought it, and that was kinda another reason for the subframe swap. I could measure some stuff but with two different subframs/set ups responding the same I am kind of out of options and tired of not driving the thing. What would you say I measure, overall width, subframe body width, control arm width then compare

It might be worth taking the car in for a diagnosis on this one. We try to avoid that with forums, but your issue is a tough one. Some body shops have a way to check frame straightness, etc. A good alignment tech at a normal automotive shop should be able to see where the issue is too. Explain what you have done and that the positive camber is the same, so there must be another issue. But I think the cheapest way to fix it will be to cut in on those mounts.

Thats one of the benefits of buying from Feal, you can tell them how you intend to use the car and they can answer those types of questions for the customer.

Very nice! Hopefully I don't get drained too hard for Christmas, just had to drop 5 bills on the vet for the wife's cat :cry: but whatever... it's shitty to work on cars outside this time of year anywayLOL
