problem with clutch

So i was driving my 97 gst and all of a sudden my friction point on my pedal went really low and im having trouble getting in second gear and sometimes in reverse. Now today my clutch pedal got stuck (doesnt come back up) when i go to change gears unless i bring it up with my hands. Can someone please help me with this problem thanks in advance.

Check the clutch fluid level. If its ok, try bleeding the clutch system. if that yields no results, you have a bad master or slave cyl. Check the inside firewall to look for leaking fluid, thats a good sign of a bad master cylinder. If it gets to that point where it is the master or slave, youd do your self justice by just replcaing both at once so you dont have to worry about the other failing down the road.

I Agree The Master Or Slave Easy Fix I Had That Prob After Putting In My High Performance Clutch Setup I Lost All Pedal Movement

Another problem i just discoverd when i press the clutch down it comes back up like half way and a few seconds later it goes up the rest of the way, also when i puch the clutch down sometimes i cant get into gear then i pushthe clutch down again and it goes in gear. anyone know how to fix this thanks.

The problem is - is that you have a hydraulic problem somewhere like mentioned earlier. I bet you if you pumped the clutch a few times, it'll build pressure and go into gear easily. I've gone through this before. It's either your master cylinder or slave cylinder. Or (if your lucky) you may just need to bleed the system.

To see if you have a bad slave cylinder, pull back the boot on the slave and it fluid comes out, there's your problem.

To see if you have a bad master cylinder, look under your dashboard, where the rod connects to the clutch pedal. If it's wet around that area, you probably have a bad master.

If you have both of these problems, then you obviously need a master and a slave.

Either way, just replace both at the same time and give it a nice, long bleed job to ensure all of the air is out of the system.

So i brought my car to the garage my mechanic bled the system checked the master and slave cylinder and said that they were both ok and that he had to drop the tranny, so now he opened the tranny and said that my pressure plate is no good. Ive had this clutch for about a year (act 2100) so now my question is do i have to replace the whole clutch kit or just the pressure plate? I dont have enough money for an aftermarket on so im putting stock. I also have a fidanza flywheel.

SO after all this bullshit now i installed a stock clutch now the new clutch is slipping after a week. is this normal? probably not

Some thing isn't right here!! How is a bad pressure plate not letting your clutch pedel come back up and sticking to the floor? I have a clutch in my other car ( 93 laser) that is so bad, when you put it in 5th gear( sitting still )and let out on the clutch, it will just sit there and slip! And the clutch pedel feels fine.



Also a new clutch that is slippen already, NOT GOOD!!!!!
