Price Check Water Pump

This might be a bit detailed for you but here it goes.

I'm getting this done next week on my car with 60,500 on it.

All Mitsubishi parts - all belts, timing/balanceshaft/idler pulley, water pump, tensioner, 5 oil seals came to $ 391.83 at my local Mitsubishi Dealer with a "DSMTuners Club Member discount". :rocks: The price for the same parts I was quoted before I told them I was a club member was $743.40. OMG

Labor - Without front oil seals - $ 371.95, With front oil seals - add $75.

Total comes to $900 and a few cents with taxes, this is at a Mitsubishi Dealership with 12 months warranty on parts and labor.

And no, I'm not taking it anywhere else besides the dealership cause I already got the "I told you so" speech from my wife. There are only 2 mechanics there, one of them has been there for 8 years and the other one for 9.

:beatentodeath: The Dealer thats another story.:beatentodeath:
Since I only pay 52% of the total price of parts, I can't complain about my dealer. :thumb: I might just put a DSMTuners sticker on my window since they saved me about $350. :p

I wish my dealer would give me that discount.

And no, you don't need to sign up anywhere to get the discount.

When you call them for quotes or go to the link about, tell them that you are a "CLUB MEMBER", if they ask you what club, then say "DSMTuners". That's it. You get your 48% discount.

The parts manager told me that they sell parts for wholesale prices to Club Members. :)

i know for me the quote was really expensive because you have to take out the motor mount and etc just to get to it, but I end up putting a lot of stop leak... The kind with the beeds in it and concluded that I had bad water pump seals and it hadnt leaked for like 3 or 4 months of driving on it after that, and then thats when I started my 6 bolt engine build up and swap and sold that engine ( the 93 engine. ) If your short on money just try a bunch of stop leak first to delay it a little... ( Might not always work, depends on the problem but mines was leaking bad until I put it. )

is this at any mitsu dealership, if so that would be pretty sweet?
From what I know, the discount is only at First Team Mitsubishi in Tallahassee, Florida. You can probably place an order over the phone (not sure) or buy parts online at the link above. From my experience, the cost of parts on their link is more expensive compared to the price that they give you if you call them.

Ahhhh.

Gotta love "Marketing". 48% off sounds great, but not when they're jacking up Net Pricing well above MSRP.

The same parts are the same price at 25% off of MSRP.

I can give 80% off of "List" if I jack the Net price up high enough.

"All that glitters is not gold".

You got a good deal on the parts, I'm not arguing that, however I hate when places play the numbers game to make it it seem like it's a better deal. Percentages are just abstract figures anyone can throw around. What's important is the total amount of money that's coming out of your pocket.

That's true. I was comparing non-club member to club member prices at my dealership. I could have bought it from Extremepsi or SBR but it would end up being more expensive.
