What's up fellow dsm owners/part time mechanics haha. Well enough wasting time, I put in a new clutch, just the disk (no fly wheel turn or anything, ya ya i know ill do it this time) and my buddy had a pressure plate that he "thought" was in better shape than the one i had on there (both were act 2600's) ne ways, got everything together started her up tried to put it in rev and grrrrrrrrind!! Ok so just need to adjust things a bit and all will be fine, but no. Theres no grinding going into any of the gears but rev, and you have to yank pretty friggin hard shift sometimes. I know the tranny is fine because it was fine before the swap. Im pretty sure its the plate but just wanted a sec opinion before i bought a new one and did the painstaking 4 hour tranny pull again!!! Thanx a mill guys

Which clutch disc is it using?

Chris

welli cant see it needing adjustment because when i installed it it was engaging like close to the floor but i adj it so it would engage further out (the peddal) i hope im describing this right. ITs an act 2600 disc and i just rebuilt the slave cylinder not too long ago. Whats the pivot ball?? and have we ruled out that i need a new plate? btw thanx alot for the help u guys

well i spent like an hour trying to figure it out but im not going to ask for help and not listen so ill try it some more and let u guys know (did u read the part about how it was an effort to pull it into a gear, but no grinding)

From the sound of it, it seems you might have air in your hydrolic system. Since you just replaced your slave cylinder your master cylinder might be going out (check it for leaks) because they go at the same time. I would say check for hydrolic issue then bleed the system and adjust the clutch.
