Pressure Plate bad in 1500 miles?

What could cause a pressure plate to go bad in 1500 miles? I've got an aweful grinding sound when I press in the clutch so I'm assuming its the pressure plate. I don't wanna put another one in and have it do the same thing.
 
It's your Throwout bearing. You want to get the Mitsu OEM TOB as the other usually fail pretty early. So don't be to worried about it costing a ton of cash. You just have some work to do to change it.
