The Rochester DSM One Lap of America team is proud to announce that they have partnered with GalantVR4.org as a premier sponsor.

GalantVR4.org is an online community of enthusiasts focused on supporting, maintaining, and preserving the Mitsubishi Galant VR4 model of cars. This community has become the authority and main resource of information for everything about the Mitsubishi Galant VR4 and we are proud to be able to represent them in this adventure.

The members of GalantVR4 took a different approach to sponsorship. They started a fund raising drive and the members dug deep in there pockets and donated the fees needed to sponsor us. Then they took it a step further and organized a parts drive to supply us with whatever we need to make the GalantVR4 community proud.

The RochesterDSM One Lap team is looking forward to meeting fellow GalantVR4 members along our route and hopefully showing the world that even after 17 years and 190K miles there is still something special about a Mitsubishi GalantVR4 and the people who own them…laying the smack down on a Sti or two won’t hurt either!

too bad so many of the younger owners just take the motors and junk the shells and so many are getting parted out. ive seen 3 on craigslist near me that have been parted out and junked

You are so right. The number of VR4's on the road drops every year so if you see a GalantVR4 for sale let somebody on

the ecenomy is so bad, i saw one that the kid did a full build and the motor had blowby so he just parted the whole thing out and the shell went straight to the junkyard in the summer. in the summer time junkyards where paying like a couple hundred bucks even with no engine and tranny so everyone was doing it. now you can barely get 100 bucks for a full car

^^ I know exactly what you mean. I had a totaled 1g in the summer that I pulled motor, trans, rear end, interior, practically everything and the junkyard still gave me ~$220 for it. The black 1g in my pics that I built for a winter beater was going to end up there also but I managed to save that one and drive it daily.
