i want to know if a 2.5" press-bent downpipe will be able to take me to low 14's or high 13's with a fwd. i will be able to run a straight pipe(Tennessee is great, no emissions), i will be running at the track this summer, and would like to save some money if i can, i am only shooting for high 13's. i dont know how much longer im gonna have the car so i dont really want to put a lot of money in it.(spent too much already)

in my gst i had pressbent full exhaust but i got it all 3" because i figured that with the pressbends i would flow about the same as a 2.5.... a couple of my buddies had 2.5" pressbent and it seemed a little more torquey ha(spelling) for low end and i had a little more top end with the 3" but for the 13's you should be fine.. i had a 12 sec goal but my car got totaled :thumbdown

Come on man how much more can it possibly cost for a mandrel bent downpipe?! I've seen them on ebay for like $120 shipped mandrel bent. Press bent CAN be done but why not just do it right?

you can pick em up on ebay for 120 shipped that all jolly but i can walkin into a exh shop on a severly tight budget and get a whole turbo back made for 120. no personally i do it right buy my gf's car is another story.

so yes i beleive 13's or even high 12's are obtainable on a press bent system.

now if you wanna be a man.. go with a drivers side exit right before the front tire.. thats the tennessee way to do it .. jk

You could run your stock downpipe and make that ET goal.

FYI.. on pump I ran 13.5 on a 14B, 13.1 on a 16G and 340WHP on my 50-trim (no track visits yet) with a Buschur 2.5" press-bent DP. Then again he makes them with very clean bends :thumb:

Yes a 3" mandrel bent DP would be better, but your question was specific to a 2.5" PB DP.

Gonna piss off the noise Nazis. Read Dre's thread on his 3.5" and NJ noise laws.
Dre is running a bullet muffler wich do nothing to reduce sound really. Swordfish uses a 3.5 and a magnaflow, says it sounds fine.

i looked at the ones on ebay, and couldnt find one for a fwd. and most were 3" anyways. when i get my car back im gonna go with the punishment racing downpipe, and a test pipe.
thanks

I ran 12.9 on the 14b using bushur's 2.5in pressbent downpipe and a crappy custom pressbent 2.5in exhaust. It will work fine for 13's
