I recently purchased a full 3in downpipe from Punishment Racing, and after removing the factory downpipe, the PR pipe is too short. Anyone ever run into this problem? I do not have access to a welder or any big power tools, i'm needing something that will bolt on fairly easy with a 3in flange on both ends that deletes the cat, any suggestions?

Thanks!

-Edit- Frogot to mention, it's for a 2g gsx

You are going to have to get a test pipe. The one that you bought is most likely supposed to bolt to a cat, what you need is one that is for a car delete.

Okay, well i'm a little frustated then.. The ad on their website says the 2g version deletes the cat. I'll check into getting one, now of any vendors to pick a cheap one up at?

I'll try and get an actual measurement tomorrow, if i can, i'll just try and find a test pipe.

Just do an ebay search for megan racing test pipe
50 bucks plus 30 shipping for me.
DO you still have the factory exhaust on it though?
If so a muffler shop may be your best option because it would be a 3" test pipe necking down to factory size pipe.
test pipes are same in as out so you would still need a reducer after it I think.
I have one left over from my kit as I went 3" all the way.
If you want it 10 bucks shipped
its polished stainless.

No ive got an SRS catback, full 3in.
the PR downpipe flange matches right up to it, perfectly, its just short.
I'll have the car back up on the lift tuesday and try and get a better look at it.

The 2g downpipes do delete the converter...I've never installed a SRS exhaust so I'm not sure if there is any compatibility issues or not.

Shoot us an email along with some pictures to [email protected] and I will try to figure out what the issue is.

Mine was the same way about 2 years ago when I bought it. I always just assumed it was because of the catback I had on it, I forget what it is but it was one of the earlier catbacks offered for the 2g back in the day. I just busted out the welder and added 4-6" to it or so. Personally I would just take it to a nearby exhaust shop, they should be able to weld in a small extension for pretty cheap

I wonder if the srs units are mostly made for use on a stock system meaning they would be made short to use the included reducer/increaser pipe to the stock cat.
Think about it....If you bought a cat delete system it would be the same length as the stock downpipe with the cat installed. The srs system is a 3" exhaust sytem meaning it would include a reducer to be able to bolt it to your stock cat. so if you tried to put in their downpipe it would be short the length of that reducer piece.
sound right? it does to me and if your short around 2.75 inches then that would be it as thats the length of the reducer
