Powersteering fluid

Hey guys. I have a squeeking belt or pully or pump. Something is squeeking. Anyway i did a search on it and found that it could be caused by low powersteering fluid. I checked my fluid and it is a little low. The manual says recommended DEXRON II. I cant find it anywhere locally. I was just wondering what ps fluid you guys use. Also can it be the culprit for the squeel? Im gonna add anyway just wondering from you guys experiences. Thanks

I used Dexron III. I had the same problem awhile back, and could not find Dexron II to save my life. But whatever you do, don't get the cheapo PS fluid from Walmart.

What brand is Dexron III? Also what do they mean by ATF? Is Valvoline VV335 good stuff or Valvoline 056? Also by adding more fluid will it help stop the squeek?

When i look up dexron III + ATF it comes up as transmition fluid? Is this what i want for the ps fluid?

Yes, Dexron is automatic transmission fluid, and that's what you use in the power steering.
