Since i've got the car the sunroof has never worked this is in the 98 eclipse, I checked the motor with power and ground and that works, but from there I don't know what to check or where to check, and I really don't know how to read the wiring schematics, so if anyone could take the time and walk me through it, that would be great. Thanks

To the right of the motor is this little control unit and that's all that ended up being the culprit in my case. Luckily the guy that I bought the motor from was nice enough to include that :)

Is there anyway to check the unit, also is there steps to take before replacing this, like the switch or where the power and ground connect?

Not that I know of. I'm assuming you've checked the fuses and everything correct? If not, obviously that'd be a good place to start. Otherwise... I got the motor and that little unit for $35 shipped.

Where did you get the motor and black box? I've been through 2 complete sunroof assemblies and have it narrowed down to the black box...don't want to pay for another assembly.

Thanks,
Matthew

I found it on DSMtrader. You might be able to email someone parting a car out. I can see if my buddy has one in his parts car. I just don't know if I really want to keep asking him for parts :/ I'll let you know.

When I push a test light into the wires none light up which wire is hot and where should the wire run to?
