I haven't ran my car in awhile, started it up the other day and power steering fluid started spraying/exploding out of the reservoir cap. It leaked a ton out all over the garage floor. I assume there is air in the lines so I took the cap off and was planning on starting the car and turning the wheel back and fourth and filling it up. But whenever I turn the car on with the cap off it explodes all over and shows that its full on the PS dipstick(its not full is has to be almost empty). Should I just deal with it shooting out until the air is out? maybe get a funnel? or take the hoses off? which hose is the return and which is the feed? any other suggestions? thanks

Sounds like a pinched or plugged line. I would start by looking at the power steering cooler.
