going to take power steering rack out of my parts car tomorrow (sunday). wondering if anyone has any tips or recommendations before i tackle this project. I have been a auto tech for about 2 yrs now so I have the main knowledge of everythying but tips and tricks are welcome to help this go smoother. esp since i'll be on my back doing it! :notgood:

Its pretty straight forward if you've been a tech for 2 years it should be cake. I took mine out i think there are a total of 4 bolts holding the rack in and 1 bolt on the steering shaft chingus .

i found it easier to take the down pipe off and to take the two triangular brackets off of the bottom of the car .. i dont know what they are called.. i also found that taking the sway bar off helped me access it as well.

just make sure you get everything lined up right soo that you get your steering wheel put back straight soo its not all crooked.

and you are going to need a pickle for to get the ball joint pieces off of the wheel are .. i got mine at harbor freight

Maybe a 12-pack of beer, and basic tools, pretty easy, just time consuming and if the car is rusty and older, then messy.
