Well it looks like something in my power steering rack gave way and now I get to replace it. I was wondering if anyone has any tips to make this easier on me and my brother or anything helpful in getting this thing off the car and replaced. Going through my dsm shop manual cd makes this look like an "interesting" job to say the least. Hopefully my brothers boss will let him bring it to work so we can rack it and have better access to everything.

it's not that hard, I did it on my old talon. Soak the bolts in penatrating oil, it'll make the job easier.

I have just been adding p/s fluid for the past 5yrs every so often for my leaky rack. I just hate to spend money on something that is not performance related or absolutely killing my car.

Mine will drain out in a matter of like 10 minutes so just adding every so often doesnt really work for me. Ill be spraying all the bolts down that I can see and go from there. Ah well just another day in the life of my Talon.

Teflon tape will not help in stopping leaks on the power steering system. In fact using teflon tape may actually cause you more problems. Just be grateful these racks have a cast iron tower.
