Hi,
My problem is the ps hard line is hitting my wastegate.

I cant connect the line 'upside down' as the bolt holes and the feed hole is not in line.

Anyone have any idea or tips on how to do this?

Thanks

ah okay, i was a bit hesitant to try and bend it, but if you did it without it cracking ill try that, thanks!

Just go slow and small bits at a time, try not to kink it. So push it from the bottom/middle part rather then the top. And don't bend too far, just make it so it barely clears and so you wont have to worry about vibration; maybe like 1/4 to half inch clearance.

alright. do you think heat could make it safer to bend? if i warm it up with a burner.

I didn't use one. id be worried about the heat affecting the integrity of the metal. Thats just me though. I didn't require any to bend it, it is made of aluminum i believe so should bend rather easy. you will be surprised when it takes you 5 seconds to do.

If it were me, I'd ditch the knock-off wastegate and get a real Tial that fits with an adapter. Or, keep that gate and ditch the adapter and weld on the proper flange.

How is that not a real tial? Looks like one to me. Mine is real and only hit cause i had to use a Vband to 38mm 2 bolt adapter. The real Tials will fit exactly the same if he is using an adapter and will still need to bend that out of the way, its honestly not a bit deal at all.

Paul, its a Tial F41 cant you see the clear TIAL logo on the gate itself, and the made in USA etching on the top?

If it were me id keep what u got and bend it.. Lot easier then what Paul is suggesting and does absolutely NO harm.

I forgot they still make the V41. My bad. But I still say ditching the adapter is the best approach. IT is the only reason the gate is sitting against the powersteering line.

ya it is LOL. I'd ditch my adapter and get a V-band 44mm but bending the line was the most economical approach and have not had one issue with it.:thumb: Then again, I didn't really care WHAT happens to my power steering as i was already contemplating removing it. Until then, i'll rock it just like OP was gonna do :)

A flange would only cost $20. Hack off the old one and weld the new one on. That would also afford the opportunity to place the gate closer to the manifold and/or mount it at any angle that first best.

Also, just an FYI: Many knock-off gates have the Tial logo and say "Made in the USA". Not saying his is definitely one of those though.

Yeah so 20 bucks for the flange and that is assuming he is a weldor and has a welder. :thumb: not to mention shipping wait time. Otherwise hes looking at paying someones welding minimum. when bending the line takes 5 seconds and is free. LOL

i payed $253 at a tuning store about 3 years ago for it so i really hope its not a knock off.

so i should remove the black thing between the wg and manifold?

If you remove the "black thing" which is your Vband adapter. Then you will not have clearance issues BUT you WILL have to weld a flange onto the manifold itself basically your taking your shiny Vband clamp and putting a square flange in its place. It depends on if you want to go through the hassle or not of removing the manifold and turbo to do the weld job. :idontknow: like i said i bent mine nad have had no problems with leaks or crack or anything like that, i jus have a pesky leak on the banjo bolt where the crush washer is, which is totally unrelated LOL.

hmm, i could do that. but it would be a bit waste of money as theres not many people buying used tuning parts (altho its not used yet) here, and shipping to the states costs around $140.

I think im gonna try and bend it, seems like the easiest way.

Dont worry this doesn't usually fit in the same category as ebay parts LOL this is a simple workaround for a non performance related item.
