Im trying to replace the power steering belt and removed both of the bolts that hold it to the mounting bracket, and both the pivot bolts but it still isn't moving when I try to push it to loosen the belt. Is there a bolt I'm missing cause I dont see anything holding it in place.

I think I found one more on the right side of the bracket but it's being covered by the pulley, how in the world am i supposed to get to it?

Is it bad to use the starter to try and align the holes? Could I just cut the belt and then manually move the pulley if I'm going to be replacing it?

Now im attempting the Alternator belt, do I loosen the red bolt first, and then the blue one? I'm having a hell of a time loosening the locking bolt. Are those the only two I need to loosen for the alternator?

Oh great, that hell of a time just turned into a broken bolt. The threads came off the head, so the threads are stuck in the mount. What do i do? :(

So your sayinh you stripped the head on the locking bolt? If so go get a set off sockets that removed stripped bolts. Good tool to have. Or try to use some vice grips

But yes you are correct. You loosen the locking bolt (red) and the (blue) bolt is the tensioning bolt

PS
Where do you live? Looks pretty rusty in that pic and that alternator looks ugly!!

I'll try to get the threads out of the mount but there's very little room to work with. So even with both the bolts completely out, the alternator still wont budge. Is there anything else holding it in place?
EDIT: I got it to move.

And no I dont mean stripped, I mean the locking bolt is in two places, the ground, and the mount.

I have both the alternator and power steering belt off. The reason I'm replacing them is because it squeals every time I turn on the car. It looks like there's some black stuff, im assuming its just shavings of the belts, in the grooves of the pulleys. How can I clean them to try and stop the squeaking. I read fine sandpaper, would that work?

@bcjjones I live in New Hampshire, the rustiest place on earth xD and this is pretty much the last straw for me. Time to sell this car and find one down south, but this time... a GSX :D
