my problem is that my power locks won't work. I know that its not the relay because i hear a click sound behind the radio when i click the lock switch. when i click the lock switch the actuators wants to lock the door but it seems that it doesn't have too much power to do it. The actuators will move 1/4 but not enough to lock the doors and turn on the security light, can someone help me fix my problem the reason i want to fix it is because i want to buy a keyless remote so i can lock it and the security light can come on.

I had the same problem
check the power lock fuse in the fuse box under the steering wheel
solved it for me :thumb:

the fuse is good and its in but i think the voltage is low that it doesn't have much power to lock or unlock the actuators

I have the same problem with the doors.. i can't seem to figure out the problem.. i checked all the fuses and they seem fine but sometime i hear the clicking and the door locks don't move at all.. othertimes it works fine... anyone know what might be going on?

Yeah i had the same exact problem as you guys. I read this thread about it (search)though and got new actuators off this one site and installed them along with keyless entry. Most likey the actuators are worn out new ones off the site im talkign about are around $40 for 2, the dealership wants hundreads :thumbdown . Anyways right now though 6 months later my power door locks keep blowing fuses, anybody have this problem? I put a 20A in there and it still even blows that.

Will they work with the factory keyless entry? Or did you buy an aftermarket alarm with it.

Thanks in Advance
James

believe it or not I to had the same problem, but only on the driver side. the door would not lock withotu the key. the lever was really hard and it would barely budge by hand. i took the panel off the door peeled the plastic sheet from in side the door until i could see the locking mechanism, and worked it back and forth with wd-40 until it moved freely. after about 10min it was moving freely with with just the door lock button. I haven't had a problem since.

I had my alternator putting out too much voltage one day. I'm assuming it was due to my oil dipstick popping up a few times and getting oil all over the alternator. One day all my dash lights were on for no apparent reason. I didn't know what was going on so I checked my voltage on my tt and it was putting out 19v.

The next day I found out my drivers side door wouldn't lock (not even manually). It would resist to lock and even if you happend to force it to the locked position, it would just snap back. My passenger side still works, but it's making a weird noise now. First thing I thought was the fuse, but it was still good, switched it with another 10amp but with the same result. I just went ahead and ordered both sides.

I was able to unbolt it from the door and get all of the metal lines off of it but there's no way to take it out from the door. I think I'm just going to get some tin snips and bend some of the metal paneling out of the way while I replace the actuators.

This happened to my car, I don't know the name of the part, but there's a plastic piece INSIDE the door that we had to replace. Just look around inside the door (as in, take the panel off), there's a switch on the end of the part where you put your key in, chances are that's broken.
