power drop

on my way home today while topping 2nd i felt a huge pop and drop in power, checked for leaks and everything looked normal. didnt see anything out of the ordinary. every time i hit 3000 rpms my power just drops like crazy.

everything before the 3000 is fine and normal, is this a fuel pressure sending problem? i did have it at a quarter tank, but after i fueled up it was the same prob, we did just have a huge rainbstorm as well.

any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks,

Have you checked for leaks by doing a boost leak test, or did you just do a visual leak check? If you haven't done so yet, do a blt.

hey, good call, that did cross my mind because its usually when the boost takes it and makes more than a 4 banger, it was just a visual check first, never done a boost check before.

just got the car not even two months ago. kinda feels like a boost leak. thanks alot

Yeah, try that and see what you find. If that doesn't reveal any leaks it might be a good idea to replace the plugs and wires as well as the fuel filter as one of these could give you that type of problem as well. Good luck.

helllloooooo, found thank newbie gods. when i squeezed the intake pipe, it almost came off the mani, rehooked it tightened it and now its as good as new if not better. thanks for the tips and replies.
