The 1996 GSX has power door locks and the passenger side struggles.
Works sometimes. After removing and studying/inspecting, lubing, cleaning,
removing some springs to make it easier... I am now considering
just instaling standard 2 wire solenoid type door actuators.

My question to you all is ... I can easilty get a solenoid wired in to the
two wires that lock/unlock. But what do the other two wires do ?

We were guessing something to do with alarm but were not sure.

Studying the inside of the power door lock mechanism I could not quite figure it out.

Any input appreciated.

The reason I looked for other options is the $153 for brand new power door lock.

Used I can get one shipped in for $30, but it is still used.
The one we have works on the bench with 12 volts applied .
Which means any used one sent to me as "tested" probably
works on the bench too, but under load is another story.

Since originally posting this I did find well explained posts on how to wire
in a 2 wire solenoid type door lock actuator. Using the existing wiring
it will not take more than 1 hour and minimal effort. No damage to OEM.

From a long term , ease of maintenance, higher reliability point of view
I am probably going to use the after market solenoid.
I hate changing out factory equipment, but from a design and engineering
standpoint I don't think Mitsubishi did this right.
A weak mabuchi motor made integral to the door latch seems a poor design.
IMHO.

Thanks for responding.
