Powdercoat engine block and head???

I am new to powder coating just using a cheap gun from harbor freight. I am curious if I can powder coat the cylinder head, I know i will have to do it after the machine work so the hot-tank doesn't take the paint off. But will the 400 degree bake in the oven distort the head surface? and the same question for the block will the bake affect the fresh hone job or the deck surface or is it a safe thing to do? I am thinking spray paint comes off easy if you get chemicals on it or pressure wash it and the powder coat will be durable for the life of the engine.

Engine enamel is designed to tolerate chemicals and heat. The general idea is that powder coat on a block and head will act like insulation. To what extent who knows, but it isn't a very common practice. Besides powder coat can stain if fuel or other chemicals get on it.
