doing the head gasket , found there was a metal one with zero prep (the reason it let go , i am guessing)
Cleaning the head and i am noticing lots of oil , how do i properly clean it all off ..Razor blade take some off but not all of it ...What do i wipe the oil/or oily stuff off with ?

Use a sanding block with some sandpaper on it. That will clean up the deck quickly. Not my favorite method. Like this: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/new...r-how-clean-block-deck-pistons-installed.html

However, BogusSVO knows his shit. So you can rely on that method. Just do the part where he is talking about using the sanding block.

Personally, I always used carb cleaner and a rol-loc. Which most people say isn't good. But I've never had an issue with it.

A razor blaze will clean it perfectly fine. I prefer not to use abrasive materials on deck and head surfaces myself. After you get all the old gasket material scraped off blow out the cylinders with compressed air and wipe them down to clean the gasket material out. From there take a rag with acetone and wipe down both surfaces. You will now be ready to bolt the head back on.

To get the oil off just use any old solvent. Brake cleaner, alcohol, acetone, even gasoline or diesel fuel will work. Use a rag that won't break down and leave little fibers everywhere. Of course let dry thoroughly before letting the new HG anywhere near it and you should be good. It also wouldn't be a bad idea to check for warps in the head with a flat edge.

used the razor blade , shop vac , break cleaner ...Worked good took a long time , Made sure it was perfect..Thanks everyone
