Hi i am new to the dsm world well about a year, and dont know to much. I am a little scared to post because i feel like i shouldnt. Did any of you ever feel that way? i want to but its just i dont want to look dumb. everyone has to learn right? I just really want to learn and be intelligent about dsms.

I still feel that way, hell 1/2 the time I know I shouldn't post anything.

But i look at how many posts you have and think OMG. Does it get easier?

Do lots of reading, post on things you know about...post phobia..and I thought my phobia of super tall things was weird.....

yeah its kind of wierd i know, but everyones phobias are wierd unless its our own :D

Hello, There is nothing wrong with having phobia of posting. We all have been their. +1 to spoolin18 always do LOTS of reading! But dont be afraid of posting things that you have problems with. Like the saying, "The only stupid question! Is the one you dont ask." There is alot of knowledge on here, and alot of people willing to help out! There is also alot of info on VFAQ Site - Visual Frequently Answered Questions that can answer pretty much all of your questions. Have FUN with your car man! Welcome to the LOVE and HATE relationship with your car. HAHA

Well. Look at it this way, if you do happen to post incorrect information, it gives us people who do know the answers a chance to up our post count correcting the misinformation. Or add a few touches that may have been overlooked. It works out in the end for everyone. It's part of the cycle of life.

everyone here has "been there done that" so to speak as far as posting goes whether they'd like to admit it or not.
:shhh: ^^^ i guess i shouldn't say everyone but the majority because i see a few that post one liners just to bump their post count. ^^^ :shhh:
i think i had really bad "post phobia" until i actually started getting in there and getting my hands dirty on my 2g. whenever i see tuning threads i still do a WTF and feel stupid because ive never done any of that stuff... YET!
like snowborder714 said, don't be afraid to post. i can't memorize the base settings on an SAFC or how to rewire a fuel pump but i do know how to look it up. dsms have been around for 20yrs now and there isn't anything new happening to these cars so someone has seen it before and once you get comfortable navigating the site and finding the info you'll be doing the same. :thumb:

:dsm:

I wanted a username that i could remember :thumb:

I won't name any names but...

Cough... Cough... Cou-defiant-gh... Cough... Cough... ROFL

This is the hangout so my post doesn't count. :p

:D haha. i was just kidding anyway... :D
but there are some that post a "i read somewhere that (insert worthless info here) but im sure someone else can help you more than i can."

defiant might post one liners but usually when he does it he accomplishes two things.
1. he belittles all of the above posters because they're being idiots
2. he answers the OP's question which is usually all the OP wanted in the first place.

I've found consuming quantities of alcohol helps......But after a 6-pack, it's not recommended, other-wise the next day you have to go back and apologize, or edit (delete) your retarded drunkin' posts :thumb:

Edit: I'm about 8 beers into the night. Just remember: If I post before 10 p.m., it's probably legit......If I post at around midnight or later......take it "with a grain of salt".

Just remember these 2 things and you'll be fine.

1. No matter how much you search, sooner or later you are GOING to get flamed.

2. Some guys on here have gotten beat up their whole lives so they come on here and they get their "E-thug" on.

i get flamed often even with proof to back it AND personal experience, just take it with a grain of salt like "i nick" said.

ROFL
the e-thugs are always the nicest, caring, & most understanding dsm'rs of them all too when you meet them at the car meets.

I can totally believe they are the nice shy guys at the meets. They wouldn't be "E-thugs" any other way. LOL

Congrats "but"......you just broke your thread virginity. You are now one of us. And your thread is pretty funny too, so props to you. No worries.

Just figure out the "ins-and-outs" of DSM alternators and you can answer/post to 30% of the posts on here.....LOL.....

It's really funny, I've noticed the same thing. They're ####ing awesome at the meets. As soon as they log on, BOOM they need to compensate for smallpenis/lack of income. Lol.

ROFL, you are a better man than I. I would have to confront them at the meets. There is a zero percent chance that it would lead to anything, but it sure feels good to set some people back in their place.

Don't be scared to post. And remember, not everyone's opinion are going to be the same. So don't worry if someone doesn't agree with you. And remember, its the internet no one is going to come through your computer screen to punch you in the face. LOL

And welcome to the forum.

Edit: And also it took me a while to start posting on this forum as well. Just look at my join date and my post count. I never really needed to post since I found everything I needed by searching. And now that I have a pretty good understanding of certain things I try to help others out.
