Or should I just play it safe and have it replaced at next alignment, balance, rotation?

Isn't the fuel filter accessible from the trunk or is it underneath?

Not too sure on the N/T models. On the turbo models it is located on the firewall behind the battery. This is something that you can do, and it isn't hard. The worst part about changing fuel filters is loosening the bolts. It is kind of a pain and you should use line wrenches to do it so you dont bust anything. I dont think that the fuel filter would be too inaccessible on the N/T model. just follow your fuel lines and you should find it. Either that or read a Chilton or Haynes Manual and it should tell you. Hope this helps, but IMO i wouldnt pay someone to do something of this nature. Besides it couldnt hurt to learn on your own. I try to take every chance to do things on my own if I feel that im competent. Thats the only way to learn, Right. :dsm:

Its right infront of the rear passanger tire under the car. Check your chiltens manual before you do anything, you have to take all of the pressure out of the lines before you take anything off... unless you want to be covered in gas. Matterfactly thats somehting I should probally do this weekend, the filter has been sitting on my work bench for 3 weeks.
