Possible to make 1g feel like an evo?

That evo motor in a 2g is pretty sweet. This guy I know works at mitsubishi and picked up a stock evo 9 motor still in the wrapped bag for $900. I think it may have mani and turbo also. What a deal, now he just needs to swap it in something. Like a honda!

EvoIII 16g and supporting mods. 18-20psi on pump with a good tune will do the trick.

Don't start with the turbo however, slowly build up the supporting mods with the help of the upgrade path that was linked to you.

my 2g was doing 20 pounds saturday night and died, i smoked some ricers, but then i was waiting for a tow truck for an hour so not a good idea to make the stocks parts go faster or up the boost, really whats the max boost on the 2g turbo?

Are people seriously telling him to do an Evo swap into a GS? You have to be kidding me. Follow the tuning guide. A 16g or even a 14b car with decent mods and a decent tune will be more than a match for a stock Evo.

yeah really.

even when i still had my little t25 on my gst. at 16psi and with intake and exhaust i put down 222whp/232tq. that was up from 186whp/190tq bone stock when i first got it. thats a big gain with just some basic mods.

after i got bored of that i swapped to a pte 50 trim and made right at 300whp with the other basic supporting mods and a very conservative tune.

RRE has great info. they also have a tech page there that has tuning info for several popular turbo/injector set ups that are pretty much spot on if you are using the apexi safc.

you can spike it to 20psi, but the max it will really hold is about 16psi max until about 5500rpm or so when the motor uses more air than the turbo can produce, after that the boost will drop to around 12-13psi from 6000-7500rpm.

you can make about 250-260hp max with the t25.
