Before anyone gets mad i"m just curious to see how likely it is for a 7 bolt 4g63 n/a to have crankwalk. I'm looking a picking up a 92 n/a for cheap and the claims it had crankwalk. I truly call b/s on the matter but i figured i would get a second opinion.

It happens 60% of the time, every time. (Anchorman reference)

Measure the endplay before you buy it, that is the only way to know. Since any motor with a crank can develop too much thrust bearing wear, your guess is as good as anyone else's guess on the forum to whether or not is has actually crankwalked.

Chances are it hasn't though, since most claims of CW are misdiagnosed by people who don't know what they are doing.

Lol I thought mine did. Winded up being a 75$ crank pulley fix. Lol. If he thinks it's cw let him think it.

Anchorman is a pretty awesome movie. I was buying the car to strip it for parts and i dont need the motor. I just figured if it was something i could get up and running then that would be a plus.

Thats what im leaning towards at this point :)

Why does he think it has CW? Does one of the tires leak? LOL It's probably a puley or a clutch issue. I would buy it if I were you. If he automatically assumes its CW he probably doesnt know anything about these cars and doesnt deserve that car.

He thinks its cw because he said he ran out of blinker fluid which made his sensors freak out and his crank go out of alignment which in turn cause his cyinder head to blow up. Just joking.

Well his add stats that the motor seized up.When i sent him a text asking what happened this was his response "I think the crank shaft broken, cam gears don't move at all when you try to start it, and the reason why i think it was the because the engine had a factory defect, it had crankwalk before the engine died".
Lolz just hopefully he doesnt sell it before my income tax return shows up.

The C word again huh... honestly of all the guys i have known with dsms me including iv had a few i have never seen one with crankwalk its highly over rated and to many people mistake other issues for crankwalk.

Sounds like a broken timing belt. Why buy another n/t? If you want to buy a busted car, get a 1ga awd.

I was planning on stipping it for parts to fix my 1g. I should be able to pick it up for 400 and part out anything i wouldnt need. I was also considering if its not much to fix i would sell both my n/t and buy a turbo 1g. For some i have not been able to come across any decent deals on gst or gsx here in the valley recently. Maybe its just me?

Ok Im sick and tired of hearing about CW. You guys dont know what CW is unless you expierence this.

OK I shouldnt say you DONT know, but I had a very bad expierence with CW. this was prob the worse CW most have ever seen. I was clueless when I had it like OP is asking.

Crankwalk- The car RUNS great and awsome compression 155-155-150-155, however NO power struggles to get up speed and no boost

This is not referring to my car. Its a car i was considering to use for parts excluding the motor. Its a n/a motor and ive never heard of cw on a n/a. That was the reasoning behind me asking. Plus the guys thoughts to why it has it seems odd. It wont even turn over and thats why he thinks it has c/w. So im looking at a car i could possibly fix easily that i may pick up pretty cheap.
