anyone ported thier intake manifold?, any signifigant changes?, any power difference?, anything?

Yup. On a 1g you won't get anything out of it unless you do the head as well.

figured, i wanted to take my manifold off to get it sandblasted, not sure if its really worth it now, ill just wait till i do my pistons and rings, ill port both the head and the mani, thanx

on some 1g intake manis you can port the hole where the throttle body attaches to. you will notice there is a lip that sticks out there. you can put your finger in that hole and behind that "plate". When air comes in it creates turbulance and you dont want that. Also you can just take some sand paper and smooth out the runners on the intake mani. they are pretty rough near the openings. Thats about all that can be done. I can get pics up of mine soon if you would like.

I have noticed that some 1g manis dont have a big lip near the throttle body, Im not sure what years do but if yours has it you will definatly notice.

I hope you don't mind me giving this thread a bump. I've been looking in forums for hours now for anything closley realted to what you guys were discussing and what I am wondering. Which is could I port the (I have 1gn/t talon) inside of the throttle body towards the intake side and then also match or port more in the actual intake. I plan on porting the runners and matching the head. I have my engine stripped for a rebuild right now and am trying to make a reliable all motor driver, just something that feels fast/torqy. So I'm trying to maximize EVERY "free" mod possible while I've got it apart. Let me know what you guys think(or if you don't want my questions on your thread) any input welcome. Thanks,Jake:confused:
