I've searched this site, vfaq, and google and cant seem to find any decent information on porting the 6cm housing. Using the 6cm housing on a big 16g for a quicker spool but i want to open it up a touch to increase some top end as well. Can any body post up some helpful information or links please?
Thanks in advance :thumb:

Well first thing to do is to pull it off the car and pull the turbo apart. Next, take it to a machine shop. If you get a quote and it's more than 2 hours of labor take it somewhere else. It's not that hard for a real machinist to do this. What you do next depends on how much larger you want to go. If you only want to go a little bit, I would use a jig grinder to bore it out and leave a nice finish behind. If you want to go larger like around 7cm, I'd tell them to use a boring bar to get most of the heavy stuff out and then a jig grinder to put a finish on it. Using anything other than a machine will give you imperfections all over the place and this is not an area where you can accept them.

Match both gasket surfaces to the gasket. Do this by grinding off ledges or any left over material.

Furthermore, you have a FWD. Spoolup is your enemy...leave the b16g alone!

If you have a 7cm housing around, then use it. It's not worth the slightly faster spool for the slight decrease in top end.

I wouldn't bother porting anything but the wastegate inlet and outlet, which are both outlined in the VFAQ.

Boost creep is evil.

Yes the car is FWD. I got the turbo from Machv without the turbo housing so thats why i am using the 6cm. I already got my 34mm flapper and have begun to port that area. I just wasnt sure if i could port the housing part, have it machined, or just leave it alone.
