Popping out of gear in reverse (for my friend)

Ive turned my best friend into a dsmer. hes buying his first dsm soon. he test drived a 93 eagle talon nt 5 speed. its a twin to my 91. same color and everything. anyway, when he test drove it, the guy told him the only problem was that it pops out of reverse if u dont give it enough gas or something. he wanted me to check on this. mine does it on rare occasions. i told him its really not a big problem and i have a good feeling this is common with 1g's right?

Common for me, I need to ride the clutch when I'm in reverse or it slams out and I get stuck for a little bit (Gotta wait to put the gear back in).

I always thought it was just because of our junk tranny's. But your friends problem could be caused from an overtightened reverse switch. I have not adjusted mine.
Lemme guess, it's sometimes hard to get into reverse for him, right?

...mine will take around 2 tries before it gets properly in gear. If I dont, I'll grind it out or it will pop out. Other times I'll push it in and it will pop right out as soon as I move my hand.
Sorry to jack the thread, but I need help with this same issue.

Edit: This is also my reverse gear I'm talking about.

Yea. Sometimes ill put it in reverse and itll pop out as i take my hand off the shifter and look back. i sometimes dont realise it and im like why aint i moving . but if i remember, ill hold it in reverse. i never really thought about this. im just used to it. it comes with the dsm package.
