Hi guys, I got a logger today. m1300 palm. Anyways, he didnt have any CD's that came with it. He sent me the logger software online a few minutes ago. I extracted it, and now I'm wondernig how to get it to the logger. I tried connecting it to the logger, windows recognizes it, but says it cant find the software it needs to load the palm. Any ideas? Do i even need to get the software, or can I just transfer the logging software without it? Looking at My computer, the Palm never shows up, I'm guessing because it cant find the software to recognize it. thanks

You need the hotsync cable to transfer the pocketlogger software to your palm pilot. Did you try manually selecting the software and transfer it to your palm pilot?

I have the USB cable that goes from the Palm to the USB port. How can I manually do it? I looked for the Palm in My Computer with it sync'd, it never showed up.

just go to the link the guy above posted, then install the desk top Icon. After its installed, hot sync once to save settings. Then dissconnect. Open the palm descktop app (should be some osrt of exe file that allows you to edit date planner phone book ect. You will see a install icon. click there. It will ask where the file you wish to install is located. Browse and find where your logger file is located. Then select add. It should prompt a message, will add at next hotsync. Click Okay. close desktop exe. then hotsync, it will then add the file. Done.

Palm also has many downloads to experiment with the new palm I like the PDA street finder program. Just by downloading you are (or use to be) entilted to 1 free map, (choose the area where you live or frequent). You can then buy maps by each, or a yearly rate and download them all. I had about 500 maps downloaded at one time. Just backed them up to a CD, which reminds me, where is it? But the program is great for saving places for dinner, (shows address and phone number as well) and if its not listed you can label those yourself. or for the avid street racer the "sites" ect.

Still not able to sync with my computer. I get this message..."the connection between your handheld computer and the desktop couldnt not be established. Please check your setupi and try again."

do you see a icon on bottom right of your computer that looks like a circel being made from 1 blue and 1 red arrow? if not, click start, then all programs, then find the program that hold your palm desktop. (sony or in your case palm) then highlight it, you should see icon like that I describe above, (hotsync manager). Click it then try again. With all the different plams and apps running now adays its hard to instruct how to set one up without giving generalized directions.
