pneumatic flow control = MBC??

would a pneumatic flow control be equivalent to an MBC? Ive got one installed and the boost spikes to 18psi for about 2 seconds and settles to ~12psi. I believe its a ball & spring type flow controller but I just cant control the spike. Ive tried running the source from T'ing off the BOV and also at the compressor outlet, made no difference. Ive shortened the hose lenght so the flow controller is right next to the wastegate and no difference either... Are the brand name MBCs any different in design?

an mbc is the simplist idea in the entire world, look at the stuff on vfaq on making it and youll understand how it works... if it spikes to 18 then settles at 12, that isnt really your mbc, unless your trying something weird like using a pnematic flow controler or whatever the hell that thing is...my mbc cost me 14 bucks at home depot, its not that hard....

I made one of those home depot style MBCs, i prefer the flow controller because it comes in a much smaller package and it tucks away real nicely, but unless someone on here says or proves that it cannot be used then ill switch over to the homemade type. I also did some reading and noticed that most MBCs have a tiny hole on the outlet port to bleed the air going to the wastegate, my flow controller currently has no bleed port so i will drill one tomorrow and see if that makes a difference

You're spiking to 18 when set at 12. What more proof do you need that it's not working?

i want more proof that the design & internals of a flow controller is any different from the typical MBCs...
