I have a 96 eclipse w/ a 420a motor. Unfortunately it had a small engine fire the other day because the guy that I bought the car off of didnt have the correct valve cover breather installed, so oil accumulated on the egr pipe causing a fire. Now I inspected the car and repaired what ever damaged wires I found. Now the car will crank and try to start but won't unless you hold the car at WOT and even then the car misses and runs like s*&t. I've got fuel pressure, injectors are firing coil packs are firing and timing is dead on. Any body w/ any ideas please respond.
By the way the egr pipe melted in half and the main harness took little damage but the wire/plug for the MFI was pretty well cooked.

Thanks Jason

Do a compression test. Execess crank case pressure, if that's what you're describing with the breather valve thing, can do damage to your rings.
