Son of a BYATCH! Ok I took off the turbo because it went bad as some of you have read already. I got the one in that I bought and I put it all on, changed the exhaust gaskets, cleaned the oil lines, cleaned the coolant line and all that. When I took off the oil return line to change the gaskets some oil leaked out and it was black, good. I hooked it all back up, double checked everything actually to make sure it was all hooked up right. I started it up and it was idling really badly, so I let it run a sec, then I heard some water dripping so I shut it off. There was water all over under the engine, and a puddle of chocolate milk starting to form. The oil line that hooks up to the top of the block was stripped and oil.water mix was coming out and dripping down. I didn't get a chance to see where the water was coming from. Could a turbo swap have blown the head gasket?? Can the turbo being bad (if it is bad) leak oil into the water and cycle it through the motor? HOW THE HELL did this just happen?! HELP QUICK PLEASE!

is it possible you mixed up an oil and water line?

mabye drain some oil out and see if its got water in it

The coolant line is 14mm, the oil lines are 12mm, they aren't "swappable" really. I let the oil drain out of the return line at the bottom of the pan for like 5 mins to make sure that there wasnt separation from oil/water in case the head gasket had blown before and nothing. The real question is can a turbo being bad mix oil and water? I drained the oil and it's all milkshake, took off the oil filter, full of milkshake, took off the valve cover, all milkshake. WTF, I called the guy I bought the turbo from, he's worked on turbos for years, so has my friend, neither has heard of this ever happening. He took the turbo out of his car 3 weeks ago and it was fine, no problems at all with it. My friend said that I could take out the coolant lines from the turbo, plug em, and change oil. Then run the car and see if it still mixes hence excluding the turbo from the equation. IF the head gasket was bad, mixing oil/water and cycling it through the turbo could have killed the turbo which I understand. What I don't understand is 1. if the head gasket was blown, why didnt water/oil leak out of the oil return line hooked to the oil pan? The car sat from wed til today w/o running it so it would have separated, ok I understand, oil is heavier than water, so the water should have leaked out of the return line first since by the time I reconnected the line it had leaked out enough to be level with the holes, correct? 2. has anyone ever heard of oil mixing with coolant in the turbo? if the housing is cracked they can mix in the chambers sure but this is typical head gasket problem as i understand it but then if it's the head gasket why didn't water leak out of the pan? AHHHH anyone please help me, thanks

can anyone answer if they have ever heard/seen a turbo responsible for mixing oil and water? It's all reconnected right, I've triple checked.....
