Ok so i bought my first actual car back in september of 04. This was my 96 Gs-t with 106,206 miles on it. I had looked for an Eclipse for a while now and decided to get that one. I knew a bit about the crank walk problem included with the 7 bolt but still got it. It ran fine and all was great untill about a month ago. The car also had the thing where u dont have to press the clutch to start it. Now that the car has 118,802 miles on it im getting woried. Some times after making a stop when i press the clutch in and try to shift into first it will make this scraping sound and the shift handel vibrates a bit <--- in a fast reaction i pull it back to neutal and repress the clutch and it goes in fine. At other points when shifting into 1 or 3 its very had. Since im still paying for this car for the next year and a half I have now become very woried. One of my friends also mentioned it could be that I need a new pressure plate since it some times does this and not always. Can some one please help me out. Im freaking out that the car im still paying for will end up breaking and still have to pay for it.

try bleeding your clutch. Check to see if your master or slave cylinders might be leaking. Pull the boot back on the slave cylinder and see if there is any fluid there. Also check the rod coming out of the firewall to your clutch pedal. If either of those have fluid coming from them they are going bad and could allow air into your clutch lines. This will make it hard to disengage the clutch. Your shifter cables may also be loose (where they bolt to the tranny). That is rarer but still worth checking if there is no air in your clutch lines. The symptoms you describe really don't sound like crankwalk. The walk will cause the clutch pedal to fall to the floor after left turns. Also, when at idle, if you put in the clutch you will hear a clicking noise but when it is released the sound will go away. I doubt you have crank walk. I would just check the fluid.
