Please help with Cyclone

Can anyone tell me what I need other than the Jdm ecu to controle the butterflies? I ordered a jdm gvr4 front end clip that has the cyclone dual runner intake for $1000 plus shipping and will need to know if there are any electrical conections to hook up or wires to splice. It also comes w/ a jdm ecu. Thanks:thumb:

screw it. from what i understand people that have it dont MIND it, but usually swap to the 1g manifold.

1000 bucks for motor and tranny? Where are these magical places? Do they provide compression numbers?

I had to make a shim-gasket setup for mine, because I didn't have the money at the time for a 1G manifold.

Cyclone is not an advantage.

here's my JDM motor .. the butterflies on my cyclone intake manifold is set up to open when boost kicks in. Theres # of ppl who has made the cyclone to operate the way it should be, just ask kengsx, ho chi inn..

a better low end torque/throttle response is definitely there and spooling up my B16G turbo ported/clipped is just about as quick as a 14b would spool.

Ok here it goes before I start I wanna say hello to everyone seeing this is my first post of many to come.Second I just blew my head gasket and warped my head" boost controler line popped of and made me have full boost like 30 something pounds" So i rebuilt my head, hks head gasket, apr head studs, titanium vavles, hks vavle springs, basic seals and all. With that I added a cyclon intake manifold. My question is how do I get the second runners to work without the canister, solenoid and ecu. Rite now I got it hooked uo 2 a vacuum on the intake manifold but that is just keeping them open all the time. So is there a way to by pass all of the electronics and use some kind of vavle like how a pcv vavle would work?????? Confused about the whole thing and yes I already know that it flows alil bit less then the us spec one but its on for the purpose of low end torque and spool up time im not tring to be fast top end I want all low end. Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

the cyclone manifold is trash. i suggest you get a different one.

That's your opinion! In my opinion the torque is worth it along with spool up and fuel economy!

Any way, you should have the jdm ecu then all you have to do is hook it up through the egr solinoid plug otherwise just hook it up the way you have it. I believe Lordpaxin here at dsm tuners knows more about it and is curently running one.

Completely correct if its done wrong. Which is true for most anything. Set it up right and it should work quite well.

Ok thats good info I mean I really wanna keep it because 1 I like the way it looks and 2 for the spool up time and low end torque. I haven't heard anything about welding a wastegate on it do you have pictures or any other info on that subject im not really on the computer to much so I really can't go look for it. Just need a quick solution.

You want torque ona FWD why? So you can lose more traction? Just revert to stock. Its not worth the time or effort.

I grip like an awd with my lsd and radials so I want the torque I know what I am doing and this is what I want

Look if you don't have any useful info for me don't bother posting at all I wanted was an answer to my question as far as anything else goes on the car I do all my own work including the 1.8 automatic swap to a 2.0 turbo 5 speed so I like to think I know what im doing its people like you who should be banned from sites like this its ignorance for someone who probably pays for all his mods to be put on:shhh: Thank you to those who have and will post useful information...

your swap does not impress me. ive done better than that. ive never payed anyone to do anything on my vehicles. dont question my knowledge or accomplishments.

its people like you that should be banned for making rediclous claims and passing them on as factual.

good day.

Bolt-on Mods: 20g, dsmlink, 660s, spearco fmic, tre trans, lots of the usual shit....
Oh ya thats really impressive good day to you sir!!!

Not to steal your thunder, but I have also got a Cyclone wating to go on.. I've just got one painting and clear coating it... I figured out an easy way to hook the cyclone up so that it actualy WORKS... Forget all that BS about solenoids and whatnot, all you need is a T25 actuator and a boost controller..

Mine is running off ecu.

here is plenty of ideas on running it without ecu.

http://www.dsmtalk.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=50194&highlight=cyclone+controller

though actuating it directly from the plenium is going around the inteded operation and you dont get the whole benifit.

please PM me with a sketch or picture of your setup (line from intake plenium to actuator) cause I want to do it too, and see if there is a Loss or Gain in power and economy.

thanks!

I found a JDM Cyclone intake for under 50 bucks.. good deal? does it help alot? hard to install.. I really dont know crap about them so maybe i can get a little info from you guys.
:talon:
