please help!!!! new to dsm timing

i am pretty new to the hole dsm which i love i picked up my 1991 plymouth laser rs form a dealership for a $160 but the ? i am having is i really want if not need to change my timing beacause light throttle is fine but when heavy i can hear a kinda of umm not really sure how to explian it but a twetter noise if the helps out and my idle is at 1500 somtimes 1200-1300 idk varys and i dont have the money for it and i am scared of this happing to me so i asking any and all dsmer out there if they have any adivce of how to help would be much appercaited well i also have the all to common idle surge as well as speaking from a guy that is pretty new to the car /dsm i really do not want to screw anything up i want prefaction on the first attpemt if possiby and do not have the 700 they are going to charge me up here in mitchell sd so please anyone hear a fellow dsm cry for help thanks
 
No offense but that post makes almost no sense. Everybody in here is pretty big on grammar and spelling, it makes it alot easier to read and under stand what people need/want. Just so you know when you cry for help, use spell check. :)
As far as your problems, search for hunting idle you will find a bunch of things to check. If you just got the car I would recommend the first things you do are the maintenance stuff. New plugs, wires, check all of your vacuum lines for leaks. Do the little stuff first and see if your problem is still there.

hahaha yea sorry guys i no my spelling isnt the greastest but thanks for your replys as for maintenence wise i have new plugs,wires,air filter,tie rods,brakes,and new oil and well i picked up a decent set of rims for cheap from my freind and have a exhaust LOL sorry to say guys thats really all i can afford but would the idle surge problem affect my timing or can the timing be adujsted as in how to adjust my timing if possibaly with out changing the timing belt cant change the belt beacause lack of funds any info would be greatly apprieated and i hope my spelling is a little bit better for you guys oh and i was also reading that you can open up your stock air intake for more air but i am not sure how to do this agian i am on a very strict budget as well really just down to just change dont even have enough for gas at the moment but thats the life of a 19 year old always broke LOL but thanks for all the info guys hope i can fix this stupid idle surge it drives me nuts it used to only do it when i cold started it but now latey it somtimes does then even when it is warmed up as when i push the clucth in i am hoping to get her running good enough to go to the dsm shootout wouldnt be able to do a good 1/4 mile as its n/t and all stock accept for what i listed but thanks agian all you dsm gods out there :thumb:
