I searched for this and came up with several ideas, But nothing seems to be exactly what I have. I just put a evo3 in a 2g Talon. I turned the motor over for about 1 minute before replacing the fuse to start the car. When I started it everything sounded great, Then after about 3 minutes of running it starts to make this noise. It sounds like its coming from the head area. I put my hand over the valve cover and I can feel the tap more over the #3 cyl. It doesn't get faster or louder with RPM but when you let off to return to idle is sounds like a cessna. I watched several noise videos posted here and nothing really is the same as this. Any one have any ideas?

did you take the valvecover off to see what's inside? maybe just a 10 minute peek could help...

when you turned the crank manually, was it harder to turn than normal?...

First i took the oil cap off while running, Not much oil was coming out of the cap. I did take the vavle cover off. I noticed that oil is only spraying from near the cam sprockets? I am new to DSMs so I am not sure if this is normal (seems like not enough to me). I looked in the chiltons manual and couldn't find anything regarding that. The noise is definately louder when the motor is going down to idle. I read somewhere on here that I can check the screen to see if its clogged, Also I used 10w30 oil. I saw that some people were using much thicker oils. I am thinking about "seafoaming" it too, Maybe that will help clean it out.

When I cranked the motor by hand everything seems fine.
