Don't have the will to spend 150+ on the carbonwerks part so I dug into doing it myself.

I wrapped some blue 3M masking tape over the holes I made to support the fiberglass...

Cut the hole out for the SAFC and installed a strip of balsa to support the boost controller. The balsa strip will also serve to make sure the front is flat and not wavy once everything is done.

Still need to finish the set of switch holes on the left.

Walmart was out of black vinyl so I grabbed white and some black vinyl dye.

No big deal.

Hopefully I can finish it tomorrow.

Awesome, looks very nice.

Whats the procedure for laying fiberglass? Do you just put the cloth over the area and slather the hardener all over it? How is the SAFC supported from the back?

Pretty cool, but the white vinyl is just too bright. I thought the point of getting black components was to keep things low key? The vinyl just screams "look at me, steal me!"

he said he couldn't get black so he got white and black dye........

Ah... sorry. Didn't read the whole thing word by word. Just skimmed it. Trying to troubleshoot my email client. Can receive but can't send.

Anyway... ever thought about covering it in carbon instead of vinyl?

My ex-roommate left a roll of carbon weave behind after he moved out. Can probably get you some of it.

That looks awesome. I'm looking into making a fiberglass structure to hold my safc below my cd player using the stock radio piece (black plastic square that snaps into place around that area). I was wondering where you got that fiberglass sheet and what resin/hardener did you use? How strong is the piece now that it has dried?

Well, it's installed, just need to finish up the wiring and it'll be done. The boost controller and safc are both plugged in, just need to tap the wires to the ECU.

Then the fun task of putting the car back together.

The vinyl turned out a bit too glossy for me...might look into another vinyl later.

Done.

Except for re-routing those AC ducts. They will be re-routed.
