Planning a new N/A Engine

Well i have this idea for a new build for my car (4G63). I was just wondering what some weaknesses and strangths of the engine. Im still putting the idea togeather but i keep geting conflicting information but you all know how that is.

2.4 stroker
Custom forged pistons (thinking 12:1 what you guys think)
ARP head bolts
Scat Rods
2100 ACT clutch
For the head i wanted to get a simple port polish with titanium springs.
i was going to use the cams off a TSI until i could afford some 272's (smart?)
then i was going to take the fuel pump, rail, FPR, and Injectors off a TSI, and tune it down with an safc.
i was also thinking about adding a nitrous setup on it in the near future but probobly wont.
i took a mixture of what alot of people have done and based on that this is what i think might be best for the money to power ratio for what im doing.
 
well back on this topic again.....

you might as well just use the straight 4g64 block instead of stroking it, because if you are running NA im sure you are gonna want to try to rev it out, no need to put anymore stress using the stroker.

Also as it has been said its not going to help you by using the turbo cams on an NA application, they are made for forced inductions applications.

You are also going to want to do a big porting job on the head to get the most flow you can to make up for boost......

oh i see. What is the difference in the two blocks? would using a larger intake cam help air flow as well.
 
Like your other threads we are going to ask what are your goals? You keep speaking in general statements like "will 12:1 work" or "is a bigger intake cam better". That is not how motors get built.

12:1 is high on pump gas and will be hard to tune on pump. As already noted turbo cams are not going to do well for an NA motor. I would look to see who makes cams for an N/A 4G63 motor in the first place and see what grinds they offer. Perhaps talk to them about you plans and see what that company thinks would be a good fit.

Do not continue to post new threads about the same thing over and over again. If you wan't help from us then take it of you are going to flame and get mad then just sign off.

No one is getten mad. not until you say something that isent adding to the topic. Only reason i half i ask the quetion again is because people just keep acting a fool every where. my personal goal for this car would be between 200 to 230 HP but like every thing ells this project is also on a budget. And this is a different question any way so it dont realy matter. The other thread was about CR that no one even botherd to talk about any way.
 
is there a certain reason you are tryin to go N/A on a car that is pretty much built for a turbo platform...

im just saying that because of your HP goals, you can make that almost stock on a turbo engine.

IMO, if you want something like that i would find a cheap colt or something shell that is light and you can make up for the power.

you could say im just doing it for me LOL. I put 8k into my talon and it got stolen so now i dont have any thing to do and im driven around my crapy eclipse. so i though hey i should do this. its something new and i figure i could learn some new information and have a decently fast eclipse. know one on the street could tell whats been done to it ;). no what i mean. (feeling an empty part of me with this project LOL)

seems like what you are looking for...

na i just read it now. that gave me some good information and supported what i new thanks. dose any have an idea on how to go about clearance. i dont mean how to do it but more like when. Should i do it before i take the engine to the machine shop to get it hot tanked so it cleans out the metal shards. or should i do it after the engines been hot tanked bored and honed? seemes smarter to clearance it first but it would be hard to figure out where to do it if u cant install the crank rods and pistons. any one have any ideas?
 
good cam's for the nonturbo car would be the stock cams that cam on manual turbo cars.
