hey people i need help on my block... it seems like the piston rings are leaving a groove on the cylinder walls... is it normal? could i just hone the cylinder walls and install new piston rings?

I would check the cylinder to see if it still up to specs. I really can't tell how dip the grooves are(poor picture quality) but you could take it to a shop and find out. And if it is to specs then hone it and get new rings in it. Try finding the source of the problem though.

Could be debris in the piston rings such as carbon build up or it could ring failure. The pic quality isnt all that great. Does your fingernail catch when you scrape it across? What was the compression on this piston? What was the reason that you pulled the head? All of those could help us understand what is going on and give you a more accurate answer to this.

Was this a rebuild? Did you check piston to wall clearance? I had the same issue on all of my cylinder walls, didn't check piston to wall clearance and all my skirts dragged/####ed up rings/lands. Needless to say, lesson learned.

well i took it apart cause i decided to rebuild it since i didnt know what was done to it or the mileage... so i decided to rebuild it since im thinking on turning up my boost...! it had no problems at all when i pulled it out... i also noticed that i have a bit of crankwalk...! but can i just replace the bearings. rings and such to fix it? what can i do to prevent it from crankwalking again...??

Every photo you took still has the pistons installed. So, have you removed the pistons? It looks very similar to an issue I had a while back when my piston ring lands broke (the actual piston between the rings). The broken ring lands will leave a mark on the cylinder walls. Let us know how the ring lands look when you pull the pistons and rings.
