Piston Repair/ Engine Rebuild

Ok guys here's the lil problem i have. My engine light came on and i went and got it checked out. The guy told me that my cylinder #1 is miss-firing and he said that i should prolly just change out the rings. I'm thinking about rebuilding the damn thing cuz it just hit 95k miles and since im gonna be in there anyway might as well do it. So im asking how hard would it be to rebuild my engine myself cuz the shop wants like 2800 bux :thumbdown . So how long do you think it would take and again how hard would it be to take on this task. Thnx.

it is a lot of work but for 2800 you can buy all the tools and in the end you will have a lot of tools you might as diy so you can have the tools or just get a race motor for 3000if you diy you will save alot of money

95k is nothing, you dont need to rebuild your engine at that mileage, start thinking about a rebuild at like 140k. If you have a misfiring cylinder try changing the plugs and wires. Try that before you start paying someone to pull your engine apart. When i first got my car it misfired too, new wires and some new plugs and it ran nice. Oh and also you should do a compression test.
