Montreal,
Hi, my car wasn`t running at all. I tought it was my valve that are bent. I took off the head and noticed right away piston #1 is not aligned with piston #4. The piston #2 and #3 are aligned well. Now I would like to know what could cause this problem with the pistons???

Thanks

yes, my guess is you spun a bearing and have been driving it too long. this would cause the bearing surface to wear away. do you have metal shavings in your oil? i'm betting the answer is going to be yes.

pictures would be great.

if you did damage your engine like i suspect, you're probably going to need a new crank, new rod, and possibly a boxload of other things. it depends on how many shavings you sent through your motor and where they did damage. i'd plan on doing a full rebuild and make sure you get your parts washed out at the machine shop. that's my opinion, but i wouldn't like to have a bunch of metal shavings floating around inside my engine. the only way to get them out is to tear everything down, have it cleaned, and reassemble.

Turn the engine over by hand, and watch the suspected piston to see if it moves with ANY movement of the crank, if it does'nt then you = screwed. The crankshaft might not be in a position right now for number one and four to be at the same position though, try turning the crank to see if they will come into alignment.
