piston identification

I bought a 6b0lt block with a 2g head already assembled. Is there a way to tell throught the oil pan side of the engine, what type of piston are in it? Maybe some markings or numbers somewhere where i couldnt see. The engine is freshly rebuilt and i am curious of the setup that he intended to run? he didnt know much about it since he had purchased it the same way that i did from another person? Any ideas???

I don't think there will be. I know the early Evos had markings on the block just inside the oil pan, but I think the only way would be to pull the head off.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

If they are stock you will have to pull the head. Maybe someone has an optical light that you could look through the spark plug hole.
