2G Pioneer AVH-3100DVD Double DIN Install Using Single DIN Kit

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

Tomorrow I am going to try a few things.

Going to Sound FX to grab an ABS sheet with a pre-cut double DIN and see if I can cut it perfectly to balance on the unit.

If that doesn't work, lexan and fiberglass.

I am in the process of installing a 7 inch DVD/CD/radio. It is actually a single din unit with the screen taking up the space of the double. I am using the stock brackets because thats means no wiggle and it not breaking (like the plastic brackets do at times). It is a Soundstream model number vir-7022nr. I got it for free :) I'll try to get pics tomorrow.

OK finally got mine done, stupid monsoons we have been having in Kansas. I know mine is not a Pioneer, but here it is enjoy.

Factory brackets, just modified a bit. I also used no radio sleeve just screwed the stock brackets into the head unit. As in modified a bit just bent and tweaked a bit to make it sit right.

The factory brackets have several holes and so does the deck. You have various options on how deep or out you want the face. Depending the position will also depend how many mounting holes become active.

+1 Another reason why I used them and always will if I can.

How's quality and function of this deck? I've seen them on Ebay for a decent price...

Alpine iXA-w404 stock mounting brackets, no modding. The only thing I couldn't do was use the radio mounting plate. Fits PERFECT very very very small gap.

Quality and function are great!! Great resolution while watching movies and music videos. It has a mini usb port and also the Ipod port. The touch screen works great and I have no problem seeing the screen. There are lots of functions where you can adjust all the settings and what not. You can change the background picture along with adding in pictures to set to scroll through as a screen saver. I Like it a lot!

noavgjoe, Umm try a local junk yard?

That looks sick. I actually just bought the AVH-P3200BT and I'm stoked to see it (and use it) in my car.. hoping the install won't be too difficult with it.
