I had my oil pump front cover and gears sieze up or the bolt came off and i used red thread locker an torqued to proper spec. It obviosly came loose, so how much further past 30 ft lbs should i torque it to? I dont want this happening again. It made my timing jump teeth and caught my timing belt cover on fire. I dont understand yet how i sprayed oil all over my drivers wheel well, but heres some pics. The gear that i have is bent and now i was wondering if it was ok to use this topline gear to replace it, or is this something that should be OEM. Topline gear is pictures in first pic. I even want to get a part number for the bolt that holds it on, to do everything right "again". In the last 2 pics, you can see the bolt is still attached, so i dont know waht could have caused this, thus making me nervous to put it back together and try it again. I bought a whole new oil pump front cover, and oil pump gears. Anyone know what could have went wrong? I cycled the oil pump to where oil was coming up to the heads and everything. I lost oil pressure all the sudden and shut off the car. I dont get to work on it again till after christmas, but if anyone has any idea or has seen this happen before, let me know. Is it highly likely that i spun a rod bearing after losing oil pressure or messed up my shortblock? I probably have bent valves cause it jumped timing, but do you think the block is ok?
