i saw a thread on here with a tutorial of a guy painting his 2g stock rims bronze it actually looked pretty good

nothing to do with rims but found it on my comp. old hks setup.

well do these rims come on any other model
than the gst

because if not i found a gst that is white and its 600 so i mean please answer this question

^^^^^ im pretty sure those rims come on the gst and the gs. The gst rims will be chrome and the gs rims will just be a grey color

Where did you find a GST for 600? And what's wrong with it?

Over here in new england i find gst for under 1g all the time that need like a drop in engine or something dumb, but while im looking for a awd shell to convert there all 4g's and up lamee. But these rims are stock on the gs/gst/spyder/spyder gst models.The 5 spoke chrome rims only come on the eclipse which have leathers, Unless its a gsx which has way sexier 17's on it.

well here in mississippi we have a bunch of rednecks that dont know what they have so i found my 97 for 500 but i found another for 600 but the one for 500 needs and engine and the one for 600 blew a head gasket

Sorry but your statement is incorrect. 97-99 Eclipse GS and GST came stock with these wheels. GS came with the silver finish and the GST came with both the Chrome and Silver finish. The Chrome finish was an option from the factory.

yes i have a gst with the chrome finish and i have a friend that has a 97 gs that has the same rims just in a flat silver grey finish

Ya I was at work when I was looking at this and most of the time those computers dont show pictures posted inside the posts... I just see a bunch of 'X's ... The bronze actually looks pretty good....

What is the upkeep after painting the wheels? Chrome ones at that... Does the paint keep well or is it a good idea to do it over after a certain period of time?

Well where i live in Massachusetts the winters and salt are harsh. I repaint my rims about every 2 months or so. The lips always stay fine just the acutal spokes somewhat scuff up.
There easy to maintain its all in your own looks. As to the chrome i beleive the paint dosent stick well to it. Maybe if you could sandblast it all off but i know you want a good scuff up service to get the paint to stick well. Dont word me on the chrome but i remeber my father telling me that.My new evo 8's look amazing in bronze. Once i get my tires ill post pix. Fatties 245/45's compared to my stock 205/55

Just go get them powdercoated. It's a little more expensive, but will last much longer and is far more durable. It's cheaper than buying new rims though!

ever had anything powder coated? i would look into that but i don't know how long it would take because those are the only wheels i have for my car so i can't have it down to long. any idea how long it takes from the start to finish?

I had a frame for my xr50 powdercoated. Took about a week. Just find you some junk rims, or find someone to loan you a pair for a week or two. I'd say at the longest two weeks. But it all depends on the shop doing it. Call around and see what they tell you.
