Hi

I've searched the forum but couldn't find any pics of the underside of a 1Gb awd.
I have puzzled for the last 2 hours on how to install the L shaped panel that goes behind the front bumper somewhere.

Does any1 have a picture of a full OEM paneled engine undercarriage 1G awd dsm?
Thank you!!

The boot shaped one? As in the air duct that sits behind the fog light and directs air the the side mount?

Hi

The one that sits directly behind the foglight i already installed. It wraps around the foglight. Im talking about a "flat" one that has a L-ish shape to it.It's about 50 cm long. Maybe its better if i upload a picture. I will get one up tomorrow when i'm done with classes..
Thanks for responding

That one goes on the bottom of the bumper to the rad core support, its attached with like 8 push lock tabs.

It like has louver in its, ei. its not perfectly smooth, right?

Sorry that it took so long for me to take the pictures.
But here they finally are.
Im in process of sanding the rims. But it takes forever to take the old paint off. Its also suffering from serious aluminium oxide(black in color). Any advice on this as well?

The smaller one is the splash sheild that goes right in front of the crank pulley, the other one <del> I believe goes on the passenger side, covering the trans.</del>

Nah that's the driver's side cover, it has the hole there to manually turn the engine when doing engine work...

If you need more pictures from different angles, let me know. I got the trans out right now, so the wheels are off.

Edit: Is that TWO different panels there in that first picture you took?

Yes. Its 2 different. I looked up the part number on the L shaped one. Its PP MB528623 A002 MPI.
The part number for the smaller one is MB528 711 L.H. MPI
Is there some kind of catalog that allows me to look it up?
Thanks for the picture it really helped me figure out where that stuff has to go.
Now only the L-shaped one is still a mystery for me. I have never owned a 2G and dont know where that part is supposed to go.
Thanks

The smaller one is the one with the hole in it, actually both his pics have the a hole.

I am wrong on the larger one however.

Yes!
Due to lack in vocabulary in english i couldn't come up with "splash guard".

This would explain it all. My dad has a AWD talon and i have a FWD 1g. Never would have thought about that. Even though i noticed the 2 were almost similar except the long part.
Thank you all for the input.

I saw the hole in his and took a picture of it because that's the only other place I've seen that hole.

Just to be clear, the much larger piece is the drivers side splash guard for your FWD 1G, and the smaller one fits the AWD car in the same place. The FWD cars dont have the extra bracing that the AWD cars do, thereby allowing the use of a larger, better covering splash guard on both the driver and passenger sides.

And, for clarification, NEITHER of the pieces in the picture posted by the OP are 2G parts.

One more thing I forgot to mention when this was being discussed in another thread is not only can the FWD guard be cut to fit the AWD, the AWD and FWD guard are in fact the same part, the AWD guard is simply a cut FWD part from the factory. If you have a FWD guard in front of you, you can look closely and there is actually a line molded into the plastic for a guide, and some even say "cut" on them.
