PIAA vs Ebay Headlight Kit

I went down to the local Auto Store looking for a headlight conversion kit. They showed me the PIAA kit that was about 120 i believe.

Lookin on Ebay i found this.

Now, going with the price difference, Has anyone ever had experience with either of these? I am leading towards the PIAA's anyways, just lookin for info.

i work for an auto parts store ( dont make me MR. know it all ) but PIAA head lights KICK ASS as for the conversion going from the sealed beams to a replaceable bulb the ebay headlights BLOW ( litterally ) if you used that kit till the lights blew and then purchased the PIAA's youd ###### be happier i know where i work if you tried to come in and buy the headlights and then the bulbs you'd be well over $120 id say buy the ebay kit and when the bulbs blow get the PIAA's

the kit comes with 2 bulbs. One of the guys that i talked to said when he bought the kit(for a different car) it was much much better than stock lighting. He also showed me a set of bulbs for 100 bucks that he said were amazing!...so for about 250 I'm thinking I could have some amazing lighting...

If you maybe pay a hundred bucks more you can get yourself HID and on that the new housing.

You pay 250-300, and you can have actually HIDs from a BMW, Acura TL, etc. Those are the way to go. Search for "HID retrofit".

that is ture also but keep in mind converting to the replacable bulb youll still have a dual filament bulb are the newer HID equiped cars dual filament or no

my boss also has HID's from euroeffects on his 1978 ford f150 ( weird ) seeing that going down the road.

the truck is a single head light system the replaceable bulb for those is the would be an h4 bulb the hid # i have no clue

i bought those for my truck, i have a 88 ranger, went to advanced and got silverstars ultra. and never had a problem and they are bright as hell and they look really really good minus the little blue buld. i never connected that

hmm alright. So just get the cheaper housings and buy good bulbs for them?

yeah thats was a much simplier way to say what i was trying to get across

i would stay away from the silverstars though
the company i work for actually stopped carring them because they blow very easly

i had a set had absolutley no probs with them a buddy put some in a chevette ( yes CHEVETTE ) he restored no problems but about everyone else they blew quick ecspecailly if they got damp at all

funny had the 1st set of silver star that i first came out it lasted me for 3-5 years or so. it was like months until the version of the silver stars came out.

Yeah, like dissing Fram filters, the newest internaweb fable is the short lifespan of Silver*Stars.

Mine are holding up just fine at a year-and-a-half.

You know so are my silverstars (over two years now on the same pair) but two friends who I helped replace their bulbs with silverstars in recent months have had one or both fail in only a couple months. Makes me think there's a production issue/change recently.

thats what i was saying i had a set last for me and one other friend but a lot of other ppl had bad luck with them we had also gotthem when they first came out though maybe somethign did change.

ive got some hyperwhites and cleaned up the assemblies with some pads that i got from Advance and they are great. they have lasted over a year. the dims are brighter than the stock brights.
