Looking to pick up some new lights for my car, I just wanted to get some of your opinions on both, I would like a hid kit but thats kinda costly. The PIAA look nice, but I had a friend who had PIAA and they sucked. Thanks guys.

IMOP your better off with the HID's, little extra money but would be a wise investment :thumb:

just to let u know..i had a set of silverstars on my old car and they lasted a whole 6 months, their junk and expensive...i'm sure piaa's are just the same and mihgt last longer, previously to the silverstars i had a set of crappy ebay lights and those lasted over 2years and cost 10 bucks

yep silverstars never last to long... Oh wait I forgot I had them in my cougar for 3 1/2 years and they are still running strong. Mustang had them for 3 years then I sold it. RX-7 had them for 3 months and they died. But I think wrapping the car around a tree might have had something to do with that. :shhh:

Silverstars are well worth every penny you spend on them. I will always use thm untill I get a good HID kit. but that wont be for a while, so in the meantime... Silverstars.

hmmm WTF

definately silverstars

The Sylvanias are working excellent for me, great cutoff pattern (unlike HIDS), and definately a whiter (hint of blue on the pattern edges) light than i have ever seen short of BMW HIDS. Much whiter than all the superbright (kind of dull) ultra white (kind of tan) super blue (kind of dim and faded blue) lights includding PIAAs

I wish to eventually change my H3s over also for my OEM driving lights

Knock on wood I have had the same set of Silverstars in the Talon for 3 years. They replaced a set of PIAAs that I didn't think were anything special. Silverstars aren't that expensive anymore either. My first set I paid close to $50 for the pair. I paid $25 for the pair for my MR2.

yeah silverstars all the way, one of mine was a dud when i got it but exhanged and there worth every penny! all i need now is the brights :thumb:
