Ok, so I have link v3, and set it so my CEL comes on when it detects knock. Well it ONLY happens when I am slight cruising, not in boost, only vacuum. Car dosent really feel or drive funny when it happens but the CEL comes on. Is this considered phantom knock, and is it worth looking into? My lifters don't tick, possible loose knock sensor? Where abouts is it located? Any other suggestions?

Well it can hurt low cruise power but if its not affecting WOT I wouldnt worry about it. A good test is just sit in neutral and free rev the motor. If it knocks then you probably have PK. If not than you could have another issue. I would do a log and post it up.

It does happen in neutral sometimes. But yeah it dosent knock while in boost or while im on it. Only light cruising, or when I have the air one while at low throttle and low rpm's.

although i never get any under vacuum, i do get some rattling noticed by the J&S knock sensor when I'm at 0 vac/0boost or if i free rev th engine, which alot of i attribute to building a loose engine (fully built long block, with clearances set for 30psi and nitrous)

Yours may just be the engine getting some miles on it, and as long as it's not pulling timing in the cruise areas where your PK is showing up i wouldn't worry about it too much for hurting the engine, but the way i am i couldn't leave it alone LOL

I searched and searched for a mASSIVE PK issue on my 2g when i first started to give a crap what a KS said again( ran without one for 8 or so years) but anyway, I found a TON of it is from the AC compressor.. I can engage and disengage the AC via the dash button while mid throttle accel and watch the PK just it's ugly head... taking the AC belt off eliminated it, then i put the belt back...when the AC compressor gets old it gets noisy and it's bolted to the block right by the KS so that's what made me start looking into that, might be worth checking
